The Alpha Reader stage is complete on “Exit Interview.” Now the story is in what I like to call the cooling period. This is a trick I learned from Stephen King. Any would-be writer could glean a thing or two from his book, On Writing. In the cooling period I let the story sit for a few weeks to a month. This gives me distance from the project so that when I come back to it, hopefully it seems fresh and any problems stick out. I plan to revisit “Exit Interview” for its second draft in late May or June.
“Heart of Alora” is closing in on the official publication date. Perceptions Magazine recently reached out for an updated bio. Bios are funny things. It isn’t always easy to sum up one’s life or career or both in a paragraph or two. Perceptions also confirmed they remain on track for publication in the second week of June. I’ll post an update when it is available.
In personal news, my wife Beth and I have made the big move from Texas to Oklahoma. Our newborn son SJ has a score of family and friends excited to play with him there. While a large part of our hearts remain in Texas, we are excited about what Oklahoma and its beauty bring for our family.
